A maven (also mavin) is a trusted expert in a particular field, who seeks to pass knowledge on to others.

Maven Enterprise Edition is a Windows Support Framework, used to create your organization's Windows Support platform. Maven displays all of the users and computers that your support technicians need to manage in one place. In seconds users of Maven can find, diagnose and fix an issue. Maven Enterprise Edition features:

Filter fast technology to drill down into information instantly
Customized Menus to launch any support tool or script
Auditing of all support analysts actions
Integration with SCCM, SMS and Altiris
Real time Computer queries against databases, Active Directory, WMI, ADSI, and Registry
Real time User queries against databases and Active Directory
All settings managed via Group Policy
For example, a user’s group membership is stored in Active Directory, while software and hardware inventory of a computer can be found in a database server such SMS or SCCM. Additional information regarding system configuration can be queried real-time from the computer via remote registry or Windows Management Instrumentation. In addition, various databases may contain other valuable configuration information that can be used to determine the required configuration. Support tools such as Event Viewer can be used to troubleshoot various issues or pinpoint the course of action. Other tools may be needed to help further diagnose the issue at hand. Custom scripts may need to be executed to fix common problems.
